AANA Terms of Service
Effective date: 6 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Noyal George, trading as AANA ("we", "us"), for your use of the AANA app. By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
1. What AANA is
AANA is a strength-training log and coach. You log your workouts, and the app tracks your progress and suggests what to aim for next: a weight, a range of reps, and an aim inside that range. It also estimates strength trends, plans goals and focus blocks, and gives you written feedback from "Ashaan", the app's coaching voice.
2. Not medical advice
AANA is not a medical device and does not give medical, physiotherapy or nutritional advice.
- Suggested weights, rep ranges, volume suggestions, goal dates, strength estimates and Ashaan's messages are general guidance calculated from the numbers you enter. They don't take account of your health, injuries, medications or medical history.
- Estimated one-rep maxes and goal dates are estimates, not guarantees.
- Strength training carries a risk of injury. Use correct technique, warm up, use spotters or safety equipment where appropriate, and stop if you feel pain, dizziness or discomfort.
- Speak to a doctor or qualified professional before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or are returning from injury.
- The app's recovery and performance check-ins help it pace volume suggestions. They are not a way to assess injury or illness.
You are responsible for deciding what you lift and how. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for injury arising from following suggestions in the app (see section 9).
3. AI-written coaching messages
With Personal coaching (section 5), some of Ashaan's messages are written by an AI model (Claude, provided by Anthropic) from the numbers in your log. It is optional and off until you agree: the app explains what it sends and asks you first (see the Privacy Policy). Before a message reaches you, our server checks it, for example that every number traces to your own data and that it contains no medical advice. If a message fails a check, or the service is unavailable, busy or over its limits, the app shows a pre-written message instead. AI-written messages can still be wrong or unsuitable. Don't rely on them as professional advice.
4. Your data, and keeping it safe
Your training data is stored on your phone, not on our servers. We cannot recover it for you. If you delete the app, lose or reset your phone, or use Delete all my data, your data is gone unless you exported it or it's in your device's own backup. Use Settings → Your Data → Export my data regularly if your history matters to you.
5. Free use, the trial and subscriptions
Free use
You can use AANA's core logging for free: one plan, workout logging, the ranges and aims, session history, and the Dashboard's monthly summary. These features need a trial or subscription, and the app marks them with a lock:
- more than one plan, and creating or duplicating plans;
- the Coach tab's goal planner and focus blocks;
- the Dashboard's strength trend, muscle volume and intensity-technique cards;
- your own custom themes;
- the shareable log card;
- Personal coaching (AI-written messages), which is for paid subscriptions only, not included in the trial, and optional: it is off until you turn it on.
Free trial
- When you finish setting up the app, you get a 30-day free trial of the subscription features.
- The trial needs no payment details and does not turn into a paid subscription automatically. When it ends, the app goes back to free use. You keep your data.
- When 5 or fewer days of the trial are left, the app shows a reminder on Home, once a day until you dismiss it for that day.
- Personal coaching (AI-written messages) is not included in the trial. During the trial, Ashaan uses pre-written messages.
- A partner promo code, entered in Settings → Account → "Have a code?", extends the trial to 60 days in total. One code can be redeemed per installation. A code never shortens a trial, and has no cash value.
Subscriptions
| Plan | Price | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | £6.49 per month | Renews every month |
| Annual | £44.99 per year | Renews every year |
Prices include VAT where it applies. Prices in other countries are shown in your store before you buy.
- You buy through Apple or Google. Payment, billing and renewal are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their terms, and are charged to your store account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Price changes: if the price changes, your store will tell you in advance as its rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Restoring: use "Restore purchases" on the subscription screen to restore a purchase on a new phone signed in to the same store account.
Founders' Lifetime
- A one-time payment of £89.99, offered only during the first 14 days after AANA's public launch. After that it is no longer sold.
- It gives you lifetime access to the premium features as they exist and as they're added, including Personal coaching, for as long as the AANA app is available. It is not a subscription and does not renew. It also shows a founder badge in the app.
- It is tied to the store account you bought it with, and can't be transferred.
Personal coaching limits
Personal coaching has fair-use limits: up to 60 AI-written messages per installation per day, and a service-wide monthly spending cap. When a limit is reached, the app uses pre-written messages until it resets. Personal coaching is off until you agree, and you can turn it on or off at any time in Settings → Account.
6. Refunds
- Purchases are refunded by Apple or Google, not by us, because they take the payment. Request a refund through the App Store (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play (your order history, or the Google Play help centre), under their refund policies.
- Your 14-day cancellation right: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to cancel a contract for digital content. That right ends once the digital content starts being supplied, but only if you agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged you'd lose the right. The stores present this at purchase.
- If the app is faulty, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including to a repair or replacement, or in some cases a refund. Contact us at support@getaana.com and we'll help, including pointing you to the right store process.
7. Using the app fairly
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, reverse-engineer or resell the app, except as the law allows;
- interfere with our servers, bypass the Personal coaching limits, or send automated requests;
- use promo codes you weren't given, or try to get subscription features without paying for them;
- use the app to break the law.
We may stop Personal coaching for an installation that breaks these rules.
8. Changes and availability
We may update the app, change or remove features, or change these terms. If a change significantly affects a subscription you've paid for, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you don't accept a change to these terms, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription. We don't promise the app or Personal coaching will always be available or error-free.
9. Our responsibility to you
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
- We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- The app is for personal, non-commercial use. We are not liable for business losses.
- Subject to the above, and given section 2, we are not responsible for injury or loss that results from exercise you choose to do, or from relying on suggestions or messages in the app, rather than from our breach of these terms.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it, after cancelling any subscription in your store. We may end these terms if you seriously break them. Sections 2, 4, 6 and 9 continue to apply after these terms end.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live. Please contact us first at support@getaana.com so we can try to resolve any problem.
